h1. Object Unification Story Object Unification Stories are an important part of culture of the tribe that first settled Oxyrozos 1. Such stories feature two material objects ending up permanently "unified", materially and/or metaphorically. Stories that present most convoluted plots and do not reveal the way objects are going to be unified until the very end are considered of higher quality. Objects in such stories are chosen to have a hidden unified meaning, and this meaning is revealed at the end of story when objects become unified. The stories are told on numerous occasions, ritual and social alike. Most prized stories are saved for special circumstances, while simple ones are told to children, starting with a special book that has an anthology of stories of increasing complexity. Being told such stories from the childhood in proper pacing and by a good narrator is considered very beneficial for character growth. As most famous stories are well known, people who do not derive pleasure from hearing the stories themselves are enjoying telling them to new listeners or observing reactions. Spoiling a story is considered a great insult and, depending on the quality of the story, can result in a hefty fine or even exile or capital punishment. As the tribe was contacted by a viking trader, they learned of many new objects and ways in which they can unified. The anonymous trader first earned the tribe's trust by inventing own stories, causing a small cultural revolution. After the trader left, many in the tribe questioned the value of "new" stories, which, while exciting, seemed foreign and could have dangerous consequences when spread. Ultimately, though, these fears have died down. In the next visit, the trader brought an AI unit that could generate text on prompt. The tribe was amazed by the new device and the AI was being used around the clock to generate stories as well as enhance existing ones. The "artificial" stories, once again, raised concern that they can poison the minds and make them lazy by reducing the need to invent new stories. However, while overall quality and accessibility of stories have raised dramatically, there was still need for creating prompts for AI to create a good story, and creativity went to that instead. Still, some of the tribe have separated into enclaves restricting themselves to the "old" stories, not involving any alien objects and created only with human mind. After the tribe finally got connected well to the rest of the galaxy, they faced a lot of migration as well as cultural influence. Tribal focus on the stories allowed them to keep their identity, and even after integration of many aliens, they successfully became an independent nation under the protectorate of a nearby empire. Agreements with other regimes, as well as internal political issues, are often decided during lengthy debates where speakers either refer to an old story about how two objects related to the subject became unified, or create a new one which gives the audience an idea of how the undertaking can be beneficial. Currently, the nation is famous for their idiomatic but entertaining media, created by either human writers, from still remaining sect of "old storytellers", or by AIs created and handled by "new storyraisers".
